Anyone who knows me back in high school probably knows how I use to have a massive crush on M2M. And anyone who really knew me, would know I had the biggest crush on Marit Larsen, aka the blonde one. So much so I named my guitar after her.
I have, somewhat, followed Marit’s career over the years and I’m happy that she ended up the successful one after the breakup. Marion always struck me as a massive tool, the one who went along with the trend. On the other hand, I always had this inkling that Marit never really enjoyed her time in M2M. They were really nothing but quintessential pop crap of the late 90s/early 00s despite how they tried to reinvent themselves in their second album. Marit always seemed too folky and avant-garde for that shit; I remember how she used to list her influences as Fiona Apple and Ben Harper, whilst Marion listed Vertical Horizon and Britney Spears.
Whatever it is, I’m really happy for her. Her second album came out a couple months back, and it’s exactly how I imagined it’d sound like. Woot. Go Team Marit! FTWWWWW
